Les Salines Beach Martinique : Pictures and description

The postcard beach! The Salines beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Martinique, in any case the best known. Long strip of white sand, lined with coconut trees leaning towards turquoise waters. It is often cited as the most beautiful beach in Martinique and it is usually the one whose photo is on the cover of brochures and magazines on Martinique. And it’s true, it is very beautiful!

To get to Salines beach from any villa rental in Martinique, it's very simple. Join Sainte Anne then continue straight south. The beach is at the end

Some "lolos" and restaurants offer meals but are, in our opinion, a little expensive. Picnic tables are placed in the shaded areas along the edge of Salines beach.
At the end of the beach, you can visit the Etang des Salines whose protected ecosystem, well explained on the signs along the route, is very special. You will discover a multitude of crabs during the ten-minute journey on the pontoon. The beaches further south, at the tip of Martinique, are accessible by the Trace des Caps coastal path. The portion south of the Salines is magnificent.

Plage des Salines: Avoid weekends

The beach is very busy, especially on weekends. In fact, the people of Martinique really appreciate this beach, whose crystal clear water is usually calm. We advise you to avoid going there on weekends in order to avoid overcrowded parking and the usual traffic jams at the end of the day.
