Beach Roseau - Pelican
Roseau Pelican Beach in Capesterre Belle Eau Guadeloupe: Photos and description
Roseau Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast of Basse-Terre.
Coming from the south on the main road (N1), a little before Sainte-Marie, a road on the right takes you to the beach below.
This beach is made up of small artificial cricks; there is little sand, but swimming is very pleasant. Numerous trees provide a well-shaded shoreline.
There are picnic tables.
In the afternoon, sellers of drinks and coconut sorbets come to set up shop.
At the north end, you will find fishing boats and often fishermen on the groynes that line the coves. The spectacle of kingfishers and pelicans is captivating. See the video below!
The beach is very busy with locals on Wednesdays and weekends. It is possible to get to the beach by car, but there is a charge for vehicle access on weekends due to crowds. Ample free parking is available just above, although unfortunately it is without shade.
