Guana Bay beach Saint-Maarten : Pictures and description

Apart from a few surfers, it's rare to come across people on this beach open to the ocean's swell. Located 3 kilometers from Philipsburg, this cove serves as the starting point for a hiking trail that leads to the natural pools of Geneve Bay.

In the southeast of the Dutch part of the island, facing Saint-Barthélemy, Guana Bay is a beach exposed to strong winds, and the waves are often noisy rollers. Situated at the end of a residential neighborhood, Guana Bay is not really suitable for swimming, and due to the strong currents, it's best suited for experienced swimmers.

Lacking any amenities, it is highly favored by experienced surfers who come here to challenge the waves. What makes Guana Bay interesting is that it serves as the starting point for the walk leading to the natural pools of Geneve Bay in the south.

Guana Bay Beach's intimacy is reflected in its infrastructure, or rather the lack of it. There are no bars or restaurants, so it's advisable to bring your own food and drinks, as well as a towel and umbrella. However, the lack of facilities is compensated by spectacular views of the nearby hills and Saint-Barth islet. Furthermore, the beach offers ideal natural conditions for surfing and bodyboarding.

Guana Bay is accessible by car from any densely populated area on the island. The well-paved road leading to this bay passes behind the large salt lake of Philipsburg.

For those considering staying near Guana Bay, although we currently do not offer villas in this location, our comprehensive range of luxury villa rentals in Saint Martin provides various options, some of which are within reasonable distance of this beach.
