Terre de Haut

Visited by more than 500 000 tourists each year, Terre-de-Haut is one of the most frequented sites of the archipelago of Guadeloupe. A day by bike allows to discover this little corner of paradise .... Spend at least 2-3 nights to appreciate the soul of "les Saintes".

Located 15 km south-east of Basse-Terre, seven islands form the archipelago of Saintes, only two are inhabited: Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas. The Baie des Saintes is considered one of the most beautiful bays in the world. The island grew mainly thanks to fishing and also its colonization, post-slavery.

Terre-de-Haut stands out more than its neighbor Terre-de-Bas. Indeed, the landings, often in the morning, rhythm the life on the island.

The tourist potential of this small island can be explained by the magnificence of its beaches (especially the Pain de Sucre Beach, one of the most beautiful), its remarkable landscapes, its extraordinary fauna and flora, and its village rather Well animated.

The town of Terre-de-Haut is composed in the center of the town hall and a small square shaded. A few steps away, the country church is built of volcanic rock.

Take time to quietly discover its narrow streets and wooden houses. Stroll through the various natural spaces and above all, do not forget to take advantage of the many beaches of the region: beach of Pain de Sucre, beach of Bois Joli, beach of Pompierre (the most known and the most accessible of the island ) and many others.

Beaches regularly cleaned, for the preservation of the Bay.
